Baby Photos

AJWelch photography offers customized portrait photography of your newborn, babies and toddlers. The session will be at your home or location of your choice which allows for the convenience and comfort of you and your child. Artistic portraits are an investment that will last for generations to come, allowing you to capture these precious times of your child's life.

Pre-shoot consultation

For the photo session a relaxed comfortable setting is suggested. Simple clothing, textures or bare skin work well to let the focus be on your little one. Dark colors photograph well for black and white photos, while earth and neutral tones work well for an outdoor shooting. Your session will be scheduled for the time of day that works best for your family. During the consultation it would be our pleasure to suggest times, settings and even clothing that will capture the effect that you are looking to create.

Shooting

The time constraints and attention span of little ones is understood and breaks are encouraged to help them relax and get their youthful energy out. These break periods are wonderful opportunities for candid's of kids being kids. Session times will generally run from 1.5-3 hours, but there is no need to worry about time.

Newborns

Newborn babies are best to photograph in their first 2 weeks. Babies photograph well in simple clothing or bare skin. Elaborate outfits tend to take away from the sweet simplicity of your baby. In order to achieve that perfect atmosphere for your baby, make sure they have a full tummy and a warm room.
